When I met @caustizer
at BronyCon last month he gave me several ideas for short comics like
this one. I would have posted my paper sketch which I did shortly after
the Con, but I thought the concept deserved to be drawn digitally ^^
He also gave me some more ideas for OC-based stories (like those Lukida comics I did), which I might draw in future ;)
Graeystone: About Pegasus and hearing. When I was originally developing Changelings as a whole, I thought about giving them enhanced senses like hearing and sight. I didn’t do that because that was getting too close to the Stu Line for my tastes. However when I was developing this page and the dialogue the initial idea came back to me. It real nature many species of birds do have sharper sight and even hearing. I decided this could work well with Pegasus and Changeling Flyers. Now this doesn’t mean they have Superman Hearing. Their hearing while sharper than their counterparts of both species can only pick things like whispers or low sudden sounds like birds do when they feel they’re being stalked. Also Derpy doesn’t have an advantage because she is a Changeling Flyer disguised as a Pegasus. In other words her hearing and sight isn’t ‘doubled’. As matter of fact that will be the truth for Changelings Types and Pony Types. A Changeling Grounder that takes the disguise of an Earth Pony does not have their natural strength doubled and so on. Its just that what they are naturally used to is already second nature when taking the form of a pony that is the same type as them.

Graeystone: Many of you might be thinking, ‘that doesn’t look like it should be a heavy burden.’ My reply to that is, ‘take a basic container like the kind that can be bought in any store like Wal-Mart… then fill it up to the brim with hardback books and try to pick it up!

What happened before…?
- Luna watched a nightmare about a Changeling hidden among ponies
- Chrysalis noticed that a Changeling separated from the hive mind
- Turns out it’s Derpy.. but they don’t know yet
- Chrysalis tried to contact the Changeling, but a brain damage made Derpy lose her connection to the hive mind
- Derpy notices.. and knows she has to protect her daughter Dinky
- Don’t forget about that magic apprentice link between Luna, Derpy.. and Chrysalis?
But for now Derpy is doing her book duty ;)

Neop: I’m finally done with my exam phase.. sorry for having you wait so long, but here is the next page. If you need a little recap read my note below ;)
Graeystone: Okay, so we confused a good chunk of people with the past few pages. Now I’m going to clear a lot of this up as best as I can without spoiling too much.
- What many readers said what may happen could happen concerning Derpy. (Keyword being ‘could’. Nothing is guaranteed)
- Chrysalis - She knows there is a One out there. She thinks its the Changeling (Derpy) she can’t mentally control. However she doesn’t know what shape the Changeling (Derpy) took.
- Luna - She knows she has an Apprentice yet doesn’t know who or where she is. Luna doesn’t know that what she felt is a connection between herself and a Changeling instead of herself and an Unicorn… which is ironic considering what Luna just said about keeping her Apprentice safe from the ‘Unknown Changeling’.
- Derpy - Will be more stress piled onto her growing mountain of stress.
