Graeystone: Yes, Derpy is that old. Because Changelings are shapeshifters (physical + magical) their cells constantly rejuvenate and the Healing Puddle does slow down the aging process making them able to live for at least 2000 years before their cells can no longer rejuvenate. At that point the cellular rejuvenation becomes like any other normal life form and changeling then has a normal lifespan.

Graeystone: After giving certain plot ideas some thought, I’ve came up with some really neat ideas that will greatly improve the story from what I had originally planned. Page 17 starts a complete rewrite for the rest of the story except for the ending. The overall plot hasn’t changed either. Its just the ‘how’ that’s been changed.
Neop: I changed the art style for the princesses a little. It isn’t perfect yet, but I like it much more now.

Been asked about the recent episode The Times They Are A Changeling and how that affects the comic. That episode doesn’t affect the comic for the following reasons:
- The comic was started long before the episode aired and I don’t want to make the kind of changes that line up the comic with canon concerning Thorax. With the path that’s laid out for the comic, Thorax couldn’t fit in anywhere without seriously distracting from the regular cast.
- MLP the cartoon is a child’s show. They have to ‘soften’ characters like Chrysalis so she remains ‘kid friendly’. The comic is not a kids comic as shown on page 11.
- This is also 'realistic comic’ in some ways. Chrysalis is reflective of just about every real life dictator/tyrant in the present and past. Simply put - dictators do not care about their people. Also the Changeling Hive reflects real life insect hives, not the ones found in the movies Antz or A Bug’s Life.

One year of Shifting Changelings…
Graeystone: Hello and thanks to everyone(pony) that has enjoyed and supported us on
this venture. Its really great to have such wonderful support and people
who love the comic. I’m glad we have such a large group of readers. I’d
also like to thank the people at Equestria Daily who declared the comic
worthy of being mentioned regularly at their website when a new page is
released.
Also thanks to the various translators who translated the
comic into various languages for others to enjoy. I would say the
translators have helped to really put the comic on the Internet Map.
Special thanks to Lauren Faust and Hasbro who lets the Fandom have the freedom to produce the fanstuff they do.
Great thanks for moemneop who agreed to do just about all of the ‘heavy
lifting’ for the comic. Without moemneop, this comic just wouldn’t have
happened or would have been in poor quality. .and no I didn’t have to
blackmail or use extortion to get him to do all of the stuff he does.
Give him a round of applause/points everyone(pony). He deserves it.

I’m
aware that we only have 14 pages up to this day while other comics come
up with a hundred pages in the same time… I’m always trying to
improve both quality and the amount of time I need to finish a page.
Page 14 took me about a week to finish, but I hope you understand that
'reallife’ often interferes -.-
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the story so far and will also enjoy the rest of it.
It’s intended to only show one comic page as that’s common for (non-pony-) webcomics. I can increase the comic page count per tumblr page, if that’s what you (the readers) want.
So, as a question to all readers of Shifting Changelings: What do you prefer? One page to click through or say 3-5 pages to scroll down?

Graeystone: Sorry about the drama that happened during the previous page. That mess really took away with what I want to say but enough of that.
I am looking for a ‘proof reader’ of sorts for a side project that I’m working for the comic. I am looking for someone who is good with biology that deals with how various life forms reproduce.

Its true that sometimes the reader’s reaction isn’t what the author(s) expected. This is so true in the last page. I had hoped the WHAM! moment was the Pony Changeling talking to the Real Pony. Never in a million years would I have guessed it ended up being the Changeling Flower that got all the attention. Oh well, it keeps things interesting.
