This is really true, I really am utterly amazed at the amount of people that view artists as “something not human”, almost as if we were machines. Then attack and become absolutely horrid because we won’t appease them or we don’t act a certain way like they want us to or because we “are getting attention we don’t deserve.” Artists work really hard on their works and to treat them like they don’t deserve attention for all that work or that they’re not human but a machine to appease you all is pretty lowly behavior…
This is also…really ironic since art is one of the most human subjects………. I….. This is painful to read. Painful because of how home sticking this is. I’m terrified of trying to hard because it means I will be exposing myself to this. There will always be the yin with the yang, negative to take along side the positive. It doesn’t make it any less disturbing when it pops its ugly head up to say hello.
REBLOGGING THIS SHIT SOOOOOO HARD!!!!!!!
Reminder
Because this needs to be shared. Here is a reminder to impatient or judgemental people. Keep in mind that sometimes artists just don’t have the time to draw requests. If they ask for some requests, that’s another thing. But they also won’t be able to draw it all. Drawing takes a lot of time and effort. No matter what way you slice it, it’s still hard work. Also. Remember to be respectful to artists! It’s not that they are ignoring you, are stuck up, or anything else. Artists only so much time! They are only human after all! And they always need breaks too!
And to artists who are a bit scared of getting hate or are getting hate, don’t let it bother you! Just do what you do, because you are amazing! Always just do what you like and have fun. Not everyone is going to understand what you are up to and what you have to deal with on the other side of the computer. So, just don’t let them bug you. Just keep creating amazing work at your own pace! You got this. I’m rooting for you! 💙
I have felt this on so many levels.
This definitely speaks to me… especially recently.
I’ve luckily only ever had about 2-3 difficult people in the 4 years I’ve been on DA. *knocks on wood*
